Compensation?

Ladies and Gentlemen!
We do perfectly understand you're volunteers (read: heros) here. So we cannot make you accept money... But
how would you like to be compensated? Gifts (iPhones, USB memory sticks, personally signed Barack Obama posters etc),
printed corporate T-shirts, your photos listed on our web site? Free or major discount StarWind licenses? Free trips with
Zorian Rotenberg to Maldives?

Please give us some hints
Thank you!

My vote would go to free licenses. Can't afford the licenses for personal use, but if I could run it for free I'd be using/testing even more. It's a win for both sides!

I agree, free licenses would be very helpful - if most of the beta testers are like me (I should think so) then we will hammer the product in many strange 'un-enterprise' ways, which smaller companies likely would end up trying due to costs/staff!

Financial head says: free stock
Given the bidding war between Dell and HP for 3Par ($1.6 billion for a company which made a profit of only $1 million in it's last quarter) Starwind must be a likely M&A target. So make your beta testers millionaires, I say. I'm sure Zorian is very nice, but the next time I go to the Maldives I'd like it to be with my wife...
Real-world financial head says: free licences. Along the lines of if you a Starwind customer and a top beta tester, you get a free license of the next upgrade.
Technical head says: I want to influence the feature set. I think there's plenty of room for storage innovation, and I can think of lots of things I'd like to see in Starwind.

Not sure about the stock (in any case for privately held company we're now stock does not mean anything, board of directors can release new shares with a sign of paper). Free licenses are OK, features control (well...) is more or less OK as well. And some free physical stuff as well
P.S. And 6pack of beer. If you're geographically close to Boston or Kiev.

Personal/Testing licenses would be my vote as well.
Nothing makes a tester more invested in a project than ownership.
