I Just upgraded to the latest version and before I was able to specify that I wanted to use WB mode for L2 cache on my SSDs. This option appears to be removed from the latest version. I have searched around a bit with no luck on much mention of this. Is this no longer an option? Now when I setup a device and chose to use SSDs for L2 cache there is not option to use WB so I assume it is write-though only. Also, if I watch the disk performance while using the system, it is behaving like it is write through only. Unfortunately for me, this completely negates reasons I wanted to use this software. I am using cheap desktop SSDs and slow SATA disks and I am fine with the wear since this is a small environment and the millions of writes I would need to wear out the SSDs would take me more than 5 years of use. This change has completely eliminated all the performance I was seeing before. Before I was seeing IOPS measures up to 45,000 since it was all hitting three SSDs in raid 0 and now I haven't seen anything over 4,000. Yuck!!!

Noticed almost the same performance issues with L2 cache a while ago. Starwind officials promised somewhere on the forum - they will significantly improve L2 performance in the upcoming build. So far I am waiting for an update and using a flat device on SSDs for performance-critical VM's and LSFS on SATA for the rest.

LOL...I just noticed your comments. "We are hardly working on it.". Does this mean you really are hardly working on it meaning not really working on it that much or does this mean you are working on it hardly, saying that you are hard at work on it? LOL...I just found it humorous.
