At the end of April, Microsoft released the new WVD with a graphical interface, directly in the Azure port:

 Azure port

This new feature is currently still in “Preview,” but that will change in the future. Only US regions are available through this portal at this time.

For now, there is no way to migrate your currently deployed WVD to this platform.

To start, search for Windows Virtual Desktop in the Azure Portal, and go to Host pools:

Windows Virtual Desktop

Click on Create host pool to create a new host pool. Choose where to deploy the new host pool and the type of host pool, Personal or Shared:

Create host pool

I’ll create 5 virtuals machines, with the following parameters:

Create virtuals machines

You can now create your 5 Virtual machines. The deployment has started:

After a few minutes, you will see your host pool:

Here is the application group that has been deployed automatically:

In the user part, you can assign it to a user or an Application group:

I now have my 5 VMs deployed:

You can now refresh/connect your Remote Desktop client to see the VM 😊

Enjoy this new administration portal!
