StarWind provides not only hyperconvergence or just storage but all necessary building blocks for the IT infrastructure: HyperConverged, Storage and Backup Appliances.
StarWind HyperConverged Appliance solves typical SMB and ROBO problems like high complexity, high costs of virtualization deployment, lack of flexibility, shrinking budgets and growing demands for IT and IT staff. It allows building a multi-hypervisor, hyperconverged, turn-key environment with the ultimate fault-tolerance rate. StarWind HCA creates a highly resilient cluster comparing to a traditional scale-out architecture which can withstand only 2 or 3 nodes failures. StarWind takes advantage of the Grid Architecture, creating a grid where each node is interconnected with another one allowing the cluster to stay operational even after a half of the nodes goes down.
In a hyper-converged environment, to get more storage, it is necessary to add more nodes driving licensing costs up. StarWind Storage Appliance provides high flexibility for IT infrastructure allowing to scale compute and storage resources independently, which is critical if storage resources are growing much faster than compute. StarWind Storage Appliance and HyperConverged Appliance are interoperable and can always be integrated into a single cluster.
StarWind Backup Appliance serves to achieve the 3-2-1 backup rule, stating that 3 copies of data must be stored on 2 different media, one of them being off-site. This is a dedicated high capacity storage unit designed to work with typical virtualized environments. Its main benefit is the ability to get all the data and maintain at least two safe copies of it, one on-premise and one in the cloud like Azure or AWS. An additional asynchronous copy of the data can be added to the disaster recovery site. StarWind Backup Appliance features built-in VTL for seamless integration into existing Tape-based DR setups.
StarWind Appliances deliver a set of outstanding features, including fault tolerance – data and caches are mirrored between the nodes for maximum resiliency. Unified storage – multiprotocol support, featuring iSER, iSCSI, SMB Direct, NFS, VVOLs on iSCSI, for simple IT infrastructure integration. Scale up – ability to add more storage to individual HCA nodes rather than forcing customers to add another node. Deduplication and compression are included with 4K inline and 32K Offline
StarWind is a single point of contact “support umbrella” for all components of the solutions be it hypervisor, storage, backup or broken hard drive, eliminating finger pointing and providing fast and reliable support.
