Hamden Hall Country Day School ensures continuous educational services by building a fault-tolerant IT infrastructure with StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA)
CHALLENGE
Before deploying StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA), Hamden Hall Country Day School’s IT environment relied on servers, hosted on two HP ProLiant DL360 G7s and supported by an HP StorageWorks x1600 G2 for shared storage running Microsoft Hyper-V. This 8-year–old infrastructure was underperforming, with online backups sometimes taking up to 24 hours to complete. The system also suffered from a single point of failure due to the SAN architecture, making it unreliable and prone to downtime.
The school realized the need for a cost–effective solution that would improve performance, reduce backup times, and eliminate the risk of downtime.
Without a doubt, this was the perfect solution for our school. Based on my experience so far, our relationship with StarWind will be long-term.

SOLUTION
Hamden Hall Country Day School chose StarWind HCI Appliance because it provided a cost–effective, hyperconverged solution that fit its budget while meeting its requirements. With excellent support from StarWind, a thorough analysis of the school’s IT infrastructure was conducted to determine the ideal configuration.
As a result, a 2–node HCA system was deployed, offering flawless performance, zero downtime, and complete fault tolerance. Compared to its previous setup, the new environment delivered unparalleled reliability and uninterrupted educational services.
