Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand solves its storage resource problem and achieves a required performance level with the help of StarWind

CHALENGE

Before StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN) deployment, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) relied on vendor storage and utilized a Hyper-V hypervisor. The organization encountered scalability issues and hardware/software lock-ins. Its infrastructure lacked the flexibility to scale up effectively, leading to performance bottlenecks мand limited storage capacity.

Despite attempts to address these issues, the existing setup proved resistant to easy solutions due to vendor constraints and the inability to efficiently scale up/out.

StarWind provided scaling up over the existing environment, and it all works as required with less downtime in case of maintenance.

SOLUTION

EGAT opted for StarWind VSAN for its software-defined storage (SDS) approach, offering scalability without hardware or software vendor lock-ins. Leveraging existing Windows servers, StarWind facilitated the seamless integration of storage infrastructure. With plans for future scalability through scale-out clustering, EGAT ensured long-term viability and flexibility.
