Fitzstone Limited gets scalability of its IT infrastructure and ensures business continuity with StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)
CHALLENGE
Before deploying StarWind Virtual SAN, Fitzstone Limited relied on an aging server running VMware ESXi, which hosted all the firm’s virtual machines. A new server, also equipped with VMware ESXi, was acquired, and the VMs were migrated to this new server. However, Fitzstone faced a significant challenge: ensuring business continuity for the law firm’s operations, which required a robust failover mechanism. The firm also relied on a single SAN, which became a single point of failure.
While searching for solutions to its challenges, Fitzstone Limited discovered that setting up and maintaining a proper SAN-centric, highly-available IT infrastructure was both complex and costly.
To get everything I required, StarWind was the best bang for the buck. It allowed us to use our existing hardware to build the required cluster, which is still running to date.

SOLUTION
StarWind VSAN’s features, competitive pricing, and the absence of a requirement for a third node for quorum made it the most cost-effective and practical solution. StarWind VSAN enabled Fitzstone Limited to leverage its existing hardware to create a failover cluster without needing to purchase additional expensive equipment, solving the firm’s business continuity problem. By transitioning to StarWind, Fitzstone Limited implemented a high-availability setup that eliminated the single point of failure associated with the previous SAN-centric system.
