CHALLENGE
Before implementing StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), Lancaster Baptist Church operated a Hyper-V cluster with a single storage server utilizing a RAID 5 array of SSDs. With over 1000 devices, 150 access points, and 50 switches accessing dozens of critical applications and services, the infrastructure lacked the necessary redundancy for expansion, upgrades, and disaster recovery (DR).
The church had previously experimented with Synology and considered Microsoft’s datacenter options but found them lacking in performance, support, and stability.
