Enovade ensures uninterrupted application functionality by overcoming a single point of failure (SPOF) issue thanks to StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)
CHALLENGE
Before StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN) deployment, Enovade faced a critical issue with its existing setup. Utilizing Microsoft Hyper-V as its hypervisor, the company encountered a significant setback when the disk partition, implemented with a single point of failure (SPOF), became inaccessible due to a physical SAN problem. This rendered the virtual SAN inaccessible to essential applications, impacting Enovade’s operations.
The challenge was exacerbated by the complexity of resolving the issue without a reliable storage solution. The existing infrastructure’s limitations and the hardware-related problems with the physical SAN made it challenging to restore access to the vSAN, hindering business continuity.
The StarWind engineer was very helpful: he fixed the problem with the physical SAN access and solved the other issues we had quickly and effectively.

SOLUTION
Enovade turned to StarWind VSAN as its storage solution. StarWind Command Center played a pivotal role in redesigning the SAN disk, providing a user-friendly interface for efficient configuration. Thanks to creating a virtual SAN disk, Enovade’s applications could access the required underlying storage. Thanks to the “mirroring” of hard disks and flash between hypervisor servers, the company also was able to resolve its SPOF issue. The resulting infrastructure now satisfies all the requirements, ensuring Enovade’s IT operations run smoothly and efficiently.
