StarWind provided EIMCo with the ability to deploy a vSAN within a failover
cluster by utilizing the internal storage bays on the nodes. StarWind also
eliminated the need to run Microsoft Windows Datacenter.

PROBLEM
Before StarWind Virtual SAN (vSAN) deployment, EIMCo had a single file sharing server subject to unnecessary downtime during reboots and updates. EIMCo was looking for a cost-effective shared storage solution to create a high availability cluster (HA).
SOLUTION
EIMCo selected StarWind vSAN because of its performance, ease of installation and management. Using StarWind vSAN, EIMCo was able to deploy an HA storage cluster without the need to purchase Microsoft Windows Server Datacenter. To date, the StarWind product has exceeded EIMCo’s initial expectations and saved them around $20K over alternative hardware configurations. In the future, EIMCo plans to deploy a second cluster powered by StarWind.
