CHALLENGE

Before deploying StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), AllPro Technologies operated three servers running Hyper-V, with each server hosting four virtual machines (VMs) and relying on direct- attached storage (DAS). However, the Hyper-V replication process proved to be slow and error- prone, making the IT environment unreliable for high availability (HA) and fault tolerance.

AllPro Technologies required a cost-effective shared storage solution that would enhance its IT infrastructure resilience and eliminate challenges without significant hardware investment.

We tested StarWind for a few months and it worked great in our test environment. We were able to extend the life of our direct- attached storage equipment.

SOLUTION

AllPro Technologies chose StarWind VSAN because it provided shared storage at an affordable price and enabled them to build a fault- tolerant IT infrastructure. StarWind VSAN allowed the company to achieve instant failover using Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV), eliminating downtime in the event of power outages. Additionally, AllPro Technologies was able to extend the life of its existing DAS equipment, further reducing costs.

Thanks to StarWind VSAN, the company now enjoys seamless maintenance with HA and no downtime without investing in a costly SAN.
