PROBLEM
Before introducing StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA) into its IT infrastructure, Benshaw Canada Controls Inc. had one standalone VMware ESXi server with several virtual machines (VMs). With only one VMware host vMotion technology remained unavailable for implementation in the company’s IT infrastructure. Also, sometimes there were situations in which the organization needed to take down production servers in order to perform maintenance. All these entailed production losses. Benshaw Canada Controls Inc. was looking for a solution that would include new servers and a storage array and would be affordable for the company’s budget. In the hope of finding a needed product, the company turned to different vendors, but all of their offers were much more expensive than the StarWind solution.
SOLUTION
Being a turnkey hyperconverged platform, StarWind HCA met all of the company’s requirements by providing the necessary storage, compute, and software resources. By having multiple servers, Benshaw Canada Controls Inc. could perform maintenance on one while the other is still operating. The presence of built-in storage allowed saving the company’s budget from additional costs for purchasing a storage array. StarWind HCA enabled the organization to enjoy VMware technologies and functions previously blocked. StarWind HCA is also about start-to-finish opportunities as Benshaw Canada Controls Inc. has received full support from the StarWind Support Team to implement the product into its existing infrastructure. Now the new IT infrastructure works like clockwork without any hiccups and pitfalls.
