CHALLENGE

Before deploying StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA), Benshaw Canada Controls Inc. relied on a single VMware ESXi server hosting several virtual machines (VMs). This setup lacked redundancy, preventing the use of vMotion and requiring production servers to be taken offline during maintenance.

The company explored traditional solutions involving new servers, storage arrays, and network equipment but found them prohibitively expensive. A cost- effective solution was needed to ensure high availability (HA) and operational efficiency without disrupting production.

The new infrastructure with StarWind has had no issues since the implementation was completed. It is meeting all of our current needs.

SOLUTION

Benshaw Canada Controls Inc. selected StarWind HCI Appliance because it allowed the company to move to hyperconvergence. By deploying multiple servers with built-in storage, it eliminated the need for a separate storage array and achieved HA. This new setup allowed maintenance to be performed on one server while others continued to operate, ensuring uninterrupted production.

Since implementation, the infrastructure has been running seamlessly, meeting all operational needs. With StarWind ProActive Premium Support in place, the company is confident in efficiently resolving any potential future issues.
