Synergium ensures uninterrupted translation services by building a 2-node high-availability storage cluster with StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)

CHALLENGE
Before deploying StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), Synergium‘s IT infrastructure relied on a two–node Hyper–V cluster with a physical SAN running all HDDs and multiple standalone servers. This setup posed a significant risk due to a single point of failure (SPOF) inherent in the SAN. The absence of high availability (HA) and fault tolerance jeopardized the company’s IT performance, data security, and overall business continuity.
To mitigate this risk, Synergium sought software– defined storage and considered Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct (S2D). However, after reading reviews and comparing costs, the company opted for StarWind VSAN, which offered a more budget–friendly and feature–rich alternative.
StarWind VSAN eliminated the single point of failure and reduced costs.

SOLUTION
Synergium chose StarWind VSAN because it enabled the creation of a fault–tolerant and highly available storage pool. This solution eliminated the need for an expensive physical SAN and resolved the SPOF issue, ensuring uninterrupted business operations. Additionally, StarWind VSAN served as the backbone for building an HA cluster, boosting the reliability of Synergium‘s IT infrastructure.
As a result, Synergium achieved a high–performance IT environment without incurring additional costs, ensuring long–term resilience and efficiency.
