Ainsworth Game Technology streamlines its IT operations by deploying a high-availability cluster with StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)
CHALLENGE
Before StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN) deployment, Ainsworth Game Technology was running a non- clustered two-node Hyper-V environment with Hyper-V Replica for disaster recovery purposes. While this infrastructure was functional, it lacked critical capabilities such as clustering, high availability (HA), and live migration. The absence of shared storage was a significant roadblock, preventing the implementation of these advanced features.
The company sought a solution that could deliver an efficient and cost-effective upgrade path.
StarWind VSAN is extremely easy to use. POC was a breeze to set up, and the engineering assistance for production configuration gave me peace of mind that our new solution was deployed following the developers’ best practices.

SOLUTION
Ainsworth Game Technology chose StarWind VSAN for its ability to provide shared storage at a fraction of the cost of traditional SAN solutions. StarWind VSAN enabled Ainsworth to create a fully functional cluster by transforming its existing servers into shared storage resources, eliminating the need for additional hardware investments.
The implementation was smooth, with the StarWind engineering team providing expert assistance during the production configuration. This resulted in a robust and high performing infrastructure that met all the company‘s requirements. The successful deployment at the North American HQ has led to plans for expanding StarWind VSAN to customer locations further, underscoring its reliability and effectiveness.
